We’re Rebel Rockhounding – a rock-obsessed couple chasing wild landscapes, dirty boots, and the kind of stones you can only find by getting off the beaten path. What started as weekend escapes to clear our heads and fill our pockets with “just one more rock” turned into a full-blown adventure lifestyle and a small business built on grit, curiosity, and a healthy disregard for doing things the “normal” way.

We fell in love with rocks the same way we fell in love with the desert and the mountains—by showing up, getting dusty, and saying yes to the next ridge, the next wash, the next weird little outcrop that “probably has nothing”… until it does. From the Owyhee Mountains of the Pacific Northwest to sun-baked claim roads and sketchy two-tracks in the American West, we’ve hiked, scrambled, and dug our way into some of the most beautiful material we’ve ever seen—jaspers, agates, turquoise, opal and more. At first, we were just bringing home buckets of rock for ourselves, cutting slabs in the garage and learning the hard way what our saws (and backs) could handle. Over time, our hobby turned into a passion, then an obsession and now into a craft—sawing, shaping, and polishing raw finds into slabs and cabochons that actually did justice to what we were pulling out of the ground. When friends, then strangers, started asking to buy our pieces, Rebel Rockhounding was born—raw rocks, slabs, and one-of-a-kind cabs, all collected and cut by us.

What Makes Us Different

We dig the majority of what we sell ourselves. That means when you see a stone in our shop, you’re getting a piece that we hiked for, sweated over, and carefully chose from the ground up. There’s no mystery middleman, no bulk-buy boxes from who-knows-where—just us, our shovels, and a whole lot of miles. We’re collectors and makers first, sellers second, and we only let go of pieces we’d be proud to keep in our own trays. Our workbench is where field finds become story pieces: rough rock turned into slabs for other lapidary artists, and killer cabs ready for jewelers and makers who want stones with real origin and character.
