Collection: Montana Agate Rough

Yellowstone River Montana Agate

Collected by Jim Woodward, a friend of Rebel Rockhounding, this stunning Montana Agate was collected along the legendary Yellowstone River in Big Sky Country. Each river-worn piece is chalcedony-rich and semi-translucent, featuring natural mossy and dendritic patterns from iron and manganese oxides that create breathtaking “picture agate” landscapes that make Montana Agate one of the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic stones, full of wild Montana spirit—no two are ever the same.

This hard, high-quality agate takes a mirror polish and is perfect for cabbing, slicing, or keeping as a classic Yellowstone rockhounding specimen from one of Montana’s most famous agate-bearing rivers
